Cirque and Angel's 'Believe' delayed
Cirque du Soleil has confirmed for the Buffet this report on the Steve Friess blog that the opening of the new show "Believe" at Luxor starring Criss Angel has been delayed due to "technical difficulties." Cirque has offered no further details. Instead of having a grand opening in September, the event has been moved to October, for now.
This is the latest problem for a show that has been generating its share of controversy, mostly centered around the behavior of star Criss Angel.
According to the Review-Journal: "The move will affect 14 shows that already were on sale. Early birds, mostly from Angel’s fan club, will be given corresponding seats at other performances or get refunds if they can’t be in town on the new night. Anyone holding tickets should call 1-800-557-7428."

Looks like this affords CA another month of contemplation about what he's going to tell his public about why he threatened a reporter in Las Vegas. His silence about it continues. As well as the people putting on the show continuing to distance themselves from it.
CA's been dodging bullets for far too long about this whole matter. And I know the viewing public is still scratching their heads about his perplexing silence and weird non-sensical statements about the issue. This thing happened in April and here it is, almost July, and still questions arise about his behavior.

I agree with Chloe, its really nice that all the loyals that purchased tickets EARLY for Criss' show got screwed. Think of how many folks purchased airline tickets and got hotel reservations that are NON REFUNDABLE. What a way to reward the loyal Criss!

What's the real scoop. Criss Angel in Rehab? Once again the ones that get screwed are the loyals. You mean to tell me that they didn' figure any of this stuff out back in April or heck, before the pre-sale tickets were offered to Criss Angel loyals?

This is screwed up!! They've moving it from month to month, whats next!? November? Most loyals who already bought the pre-tickets are screwed, not even a little bit I mean big time. Thankful I'm not one of them, but seriously what the heck is going on with Criss?!

I have tickets for September 27th. I called that number listed above and they said that it has been postponed from September 1st to the 14th. I am not affected...thank goodness. SO, The information above is incorrect.

Criss and Cirque should offer to reschedule all the LOYALS and Pre-Sale ticket holders refunds and complementary tickets to a new show.... THEY ALL are going to need this to off set the high and outragous airline fees that they are going to have to pay!! GET A CLUE CIRQUE!!!!

It seems to me that someone is having second thoughts about BELIEVE. I doubt it is Criss Angel, he owns the rights to the name, but Cirque has probably put their tail between their legs and done a complete turnaround about this.
I think the last thing you do is anger a loyal. They are the most avid fans and to put them in a state of frenzy is like the Stones at Altamont.

I was gonna go the first week in Sept. I'm a little bummed but I'll get over it. Hopefully I'll see the show in a few years when it settles itself out. I'm still going to Vegas in September though. I'll go to his store though and see his bikes on display at Luxor. Thats better then nothing.

I can't believe he would do something like this I got tickets for my bday on september 14th at 10 pm. My mom had to change the time and the flight and we are in terrable seats now! I love criss soooooo much and I would hate to think he would do this to his fans!!!!!!! Why he would put him self through this is a mystery! Criss-I don't know if u read the comments but I love u but don't start acting like a jerk! If u are holding tickets make sure u call the number that is given or else u won't be seeing the show! I LOVE U CRISS DON"T LET US DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, why do some people always have to freak out and blame it on one person when something goes wrong? Technical difficulties can happen in such a big project. I've read that this is not the first time for Cirque that a show has to be delayed because of something like that. Ok, of course I would also be frustrated if I had a ticket for an affected show, especially because I would travel there from Germany (and someday I will be able to). But come on, this is not Criss' fault!
Oh, and I have a special message to ColinFromLasVegas:
Can't you finally get over it? He said that things where different than Mr.Clarke reported, and to date he doesn't feel the need to explain more or defend himself. If you read his book, maybe you would understand why this is part of his personality. He has his reasons, for everything he does. I'm a true Loyal and this means I accept when he wants to keep certain things private. I just don't understand why you feel the need to denigrate Criss constantly. If you don't like him, why do you actually read and comment every article about him?!

If all you ladies were smart you'd invest your hard earned money and buy tickets for a show worth watching. The only thing Criss is great at is hooking up with celebrities in order to get his name in the paper, news. The celebrities that he hooks up with are less to be desired anyway which speaks volumes for that dude. If a multimillion dollar vegas magician can only get B rated actresses, models and D listed actresses what does that tell you about the man? If no one of real genuine kindness has any interest than it speaks volumes. Stop wasting your money on this dude. He is only trying to make himself richer by feeding on your badboy desires.

If ALL TRUTHS are posted on Criss’ website, how come it takes them SO LONG to update same? It took almost a MONTH to post the actual date of Season 4 (when Leach already announced it about a month ago) AND there is NOTHING about Believe being DELAYED on Criss’ website either!! What are we Loyals now? Last on the totem pole to hear the real news?
And who gets SCREWED? Those who BELIEVED in Criss the MOST -- we stood by you Criss - we WANTED to PAY MONEY to see the ‘rehearsals’, with all the foibles included, and what do we get SCREWED!! But OH NO - the Gala Event (with INVITED guests - i.e. those who GET IN FREE ‘CAUSE YOU’RE EITHER FAMILY OR A CELEBRITY) THEIR SHOW IS STILL ON!!!!!!!!!! I don’t care what the REASON IS - WE STILL GOT SCREWED!! And YES, it IS CRISS ANGEL'S FAULT - He is the HIGHLY TRAINED PROFESSIONAL!!! THIS IS HIS SHOW - not that crappy French Circus' !!! I mean really, watching someone dance & spin around is BORING after 20 mins. (if you have ANY brain at all and are SOBER) - we weren't paying to see YET ANOTHER CRAPPY CIRQUE show - we were PAYING TO SEE CRISS!
Here’s what I don’t get - how is cancelling 2 wks. of rehearsals going to make ANY difference? If you are a TRAINED PROFESSIONAL THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!! (especially since those 2 wks. that you are CANCELLING are “rehearsal shows” anyway!!! I SAY LET THEM STAND!!
I've heard 2 different stories now - that its been delayed for 2 wks. OR that it's been delayed until Oct. CONFIRM SOMETHING!!!! THERE ARE THOSE OF US WHO ARE FLYING IN AND GETTING SCREWED NOT ONLY ON OUR AIRFARE BUT HOTELS, but we don't even know which date is legitimate anymore to change our plans to!!!! Think of someone besides YOURSELF CRISS!
At the VERY LEAST set up a Meet & Greet for those ticketholders who had tickets between Sept. 1-11 WHO GOT SCREWED! (have them keep their credit card receipts to show purchase and at LEAST MEET WITH THOSE POOR SAPS who BELIEVED in you!) THIS IS SO HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL ITS INSULTING!
Judging by the way you have looked lately in those CLUBS you frequent (w/your parade of underage skanks), I'm starting to BELIEVE those REHAB rumors! Technical difficulties - MY A@@@!!!

Criss Angel is a LOSER. He is at best a COMEDIAN. His constant joke is to try to make you all believe his is an illusionist. Criss Angel may have at one time been obsessed with being the best at his craft but now the only thing Criss Angel is consumed with is being a celebrity. Criss Angel is well-known in Vegas for being an egotistic snob. Criss only associates with other celebrities or someone that will help offer him press time. Criss Angel needs to go back home to New York and do birthday parties again because no one in Vegas, which includes ME, doesn't care a damn about him other than his well-paid prostitutes and escorts.
NOTE: The only ladies willing to hang with him and/or be associated as his girl are well paid.

Great publicity campaign Criss Angel. When in doubt to bring a much media and tourists to come see your multimillion dollar show with Cirque make sure to use Pamela Anderson as your "CRISS GIRL". What happened, Jenna Jameson was too busy with her boyfriend Tito Ortiz to help you out?

I too was going to fly in for the show on the first and had not yet bought my show ticket or air tickets when I heard the news. Talking to the Hotel directly today they told me that it would start previews on Sept 12 and till Sept 23 there would be only one 7 pm show a day. Then it would begin 2 shows a night. The box office lady assured me that the first show was on Sept 12 and so I bought a ticket. Row 5 in the center section so I hope that it doesn't change again!!! I am now buying my air ticket. Call the hotel for the real updates. I am not a loyal BUT I do think it is bad that they have not changed the website to at least let the true fans know what is happening. How hard would that be???

The only people that believe Criss Angel is great are Criss Angel and his 16 year old loyals. Give them a few years to grow up and they will move on as well. Criss Angel thrives on being famous, how he chose that path to get there was by way of magic. He is a joke in comparison to all the other REAL magicians of Vegas

I seen the show last Friday 10-17-08 and it was awesome. My wife and I was in the front two seat on the front row. This show was like anything I have ever seen before. My wife and I enjoyed the show very much. A thank you to my brother n law Rodelin who plays for UNLV for getting us the tickets to a great show.
