Oh my gods, are we STILL harping on this? Is there nothing else going on in Vegas, much less the world, that could garner your attention? As Lucas said, the horse is dead. Move on.

Okay, I'm tired of being semi-calm about this so I'm just gonna let it out. Criss needs to stop being a retard and start thinking straight!! He's doing stupid stuff and no one is freakin telling him to stop! So before I start yelling anymore I sign out.

I use to be a big fan of Criss Angel's but must admit thru time I don't have as much respect for him. I like what he does but not the outspoken habits he seems to be displaying. Isn't he suppose to be a role model for younger people and his backlashing over his girlfriend and threatening someone else who's a journalist, makes me think Criss's judgement has gone down the tube. I am in no hurry to see his show as he has discouraged me from Vegas because of what's transpired recently.

Criss Angel is a press whore wannabee celebrity who at best is lucky to find a pretty lady. He maybe rich trash since he wears so much jewelry but he is so into himself I bet the jerk doesn't give a dime to anyone but himself first.

David Copperfield has no competition with Criss Angel. David remains to carry more class and dignity in one hour than Criss Angel will every have throughout his lifetime.

in case u all didn't know angel has had a long relationship with cirque, he's already had a 2 yr run on broadway in ny with cirque, the show was amazing, and was a huge hit in the city. as for what happened, with norm clark, angel was mad because norm had insinuated in a previous article that angel tried bribing one of the judges, and the guy is very passionate so what, get over it, he's show is going to be awesome weather u all attend or not, there is only a hand full of u boring people anyway that care about what no one else does.

Cirque people at Luxor should be concerned. Their star billing (soon to be) has uncalled for brought bad press to himself and to his future employers. Plus the target of his tirade is a well respected journalist who has way more credibility in this town than Cirque's new star has. Not to mention the fact that he allegedly verbally threatened this journalist with bodily harm...the kind of harm that is considered a felony. Cirque people at the Luxor have every right to be concerned when millions of dollars fly out the window, perhaps even re-think that whole show.....

I have been reading a lot of different views on Norm's article of Criss threatening him and so-called other threats; and not one reporter or journalist is in any way shape or form, willing to back this guy up(except for the few people who actually give a dam).So why are we still trying to badger and harass Criss with this garbage? Why can't people just see this for what it is. AN exaggerated stupid story and even if it is totally true, it's all the more publicity and headlines for Criss. I doubt that any of these negative stories about him are going to sway anyone away from seeiing this show. Look at Paris Hilton. She makes millions for acting like an asshole fame whore. I think it's funny that everytime someone writes something that sheds this guy in a bad light, there's like this flurry of responses complete with capital letter words, exclamation marks and multiple question marks. Those who yell and scream the loudest are paid attention to more.

There's no doubting this incident occurred. There is no videotape of it or recording of it. Why should there be? The guy threatened the journalist and didn't want anyone else to hear it. Because what he was doing was not right. Norm hasn't said anything else about it because he don't have to.....he reported it once and that's it. And he has no reason to make up something like this. Norm's integrity is not at stake here because he is the victim and he don't have to prove anything to anyone. Cris Angel's integrity is though and it seems like it's now damaged badly. He allegedly said it and it appears he meant it. It definitely appears to be true because he hasn't said another word about it and he seems to have no intention to apologize or even address the issue. And that's what Cirque people are concerned about. Big money is involved and his soon to be new employers are worried about their investment. I just happened to come across this article. Gee, an entertainer with a big ego causes a stir and gets in the press. Let's see . . . I don't recall that ever happening before. What I find humorous about this "incident" is that you would never know that it happened if you did not have access to the Internet. Some of these online articles about this incident portray it to be such a "huge" deal, but if it was, why haven't any of the mainstream media picked up on it? I have not found a single, printed article in any entertainment magazine about the Miss America pageant, Criss' supposed on-camera tirade, and/or Criss' run-in with Norm Clarke.

If there really was trouble, I am sure the mainstream media would have picked up on it, but they have not. This leads me to think that this incident was either taken entirely out of context, or perhaps did not even happen at all.

Yeah, it's pretty freakin' weird that the main people involved in this have chosen to keep quiet about it and perhaps let it go. I've pretty much said what I wanted to about this, but I think it's funny that these fans of Criss are all pointing fingers at the reporters. I'm getting tired of this "it's everybody else's fault but his" attitude.

Norm is a respected reporter on the show biz beat for the Las Vegas Review Journal, a newspaper in a large city. Yes, Las Vegas is a large city at about 2 million people and is still growing (I used to get this from tourists, "You're from Vegas? I didn't know anybody was actually from there..."). This paper don't hire idiots. If he were to make up things and report on them, he wouldn't have a job for very long. I'm getting tired of this attitude that if they are a reporter from Vegas, they must be a "hack" or write "smut." There are so many fallacies about Vegas. And nothing I can say can dispell them.

Also, the bend toward "CA can do no wrong" is really clouding judgement here. Just because no other news in the U.S. picked up on it is not the Las Vegas Review Journal's fault, nor does it mean that it's not true.

In this thread, I keep hearing that he is a good guy...good guy...he's done so much good...etc., etc., blah, blah, blah. I read that he was married. His wife assisted him to build up his show biz career. Then he got big and dumped her and is chasing after girls half his age. And they'll probably in turn dump him.

I saw recently on the internet a video of him recently out in front of Planet Hollywood on Las Vegas Boulevard. He was going up to people, jostling them around, talking and distracting them and pickpocketing them. What I thought was hilarious was these people got deflected by the so called celebrity, stars in their eyes and stuff, letting him invade their space and basically let him do it to them. I am sure that Las Vegas Metro Police Department, who are very concerned about crimes against tourists, was happy to see him explain to the general viewing audience how to avoid pickpocketing. CA is to be applauded for that. But, on the other hand, there is concern that he just did a "how to manual" for those with inclinations on how to become a pickpocket. Your slight of hand methods are wonderful, but you're not helping out Las Vegas at all.

I agree with other posts here. He's not going to last in this town for 10 years with his show.

I have mixed emotions about this. Yes Criss was wrong in what he did and said. But I think everyone made a huge deal out of something that was more then likely a joke. Another thing people have to remember is Criss is going through alot right now. The man was shooting season 3 and 4 of Mindfreak preparing for the live show and going through a divorce. After the first month of filling seats for the Cirque show with all Criss Angel fans, who the heck will go to his show? No one cares about Criss because he is not a huge star. People are not going to fly in from all over the globe to see this womanizer pig who shacks up with 22 year old girls because anyone in his own age brackett is too mature for him mentally. The only reason why he even is known to the majority at this point is because he was quick to hang with Britney, Paris, Lindsay and Pam Anderson. Without them, would anyone care to know who Criss is? As soon as he got successful in both name (celebrity) and financial he dumped her and started chasing the skirts of the 21-23 ladies. As much as I am a fan of his show, I do hope Joann makes out very well for all that she had to put up with during the course of those years since she was his Personal Assistant, Production Assistant and Coordinator.

To ConfusedCrissFan: This has nothing to do with the subject of this article, but I just wanted to throw this out there from a person living in Las Vegas. You pretty much got it right about "car crashes." Although I call them "train wrecks," it's the same thing.

The problem that I have with all of this is that all these "train wreck" personalities all seem to end up in Las Vegas. We seem to be the flame that attracts the moth. Just the way it is, I guess. The sheer number is overwhelming....Britney Spears causing a nationwide embarassment and doing her whale dance on TV (by the way, I heard she showed up for the rehearsal to her dance number with a frozen margarita in her hand...not much got done for rehearsing...the margarita took precedence)...Michael Jackson has tried to get a show at any casino here in Vegas (with no success)...Paris Hilton loves Vegas and does alot of her stupid stuff here (she shows up in a nightclub here after being released from jail where she said she reportedly "found religion" and is going to do charitable stuff, and she is screaming into a microphone there imploring everyone "to party their nuts off"), I guess because she thinks she's a star and in Las Vegas she can get away with it (only time I ever liked her was in that horror movie she was in..she portrayed a ditzy blonde who gave it up to anyone in a pickup truck and the villain got her in the end)...the list goes on and on....now add CA to the mix. Like I say, they do it to themselves.

I think it's funny to note that when I first moved here, there was only one bureau for a TV station that has them scandal show reporting on TV. Like Entertainment Tonight and all those other shows. Now? ALL TV stations have scandal show offices here in Vegas...there's plenty of business for them.

The Criss Angel site claims that Criss is hard at work on his upcoming Cirque show. However, there are also many stories circulating around that the his has drinking issues.
We all know he likes to party since LAX, PURE and BODY ENGLISH are his "home away from home" and one cannot go a week without finding him in pics on spyonvegas but how is he going to pull off such an elaborate show if he's half in the can all the time?

I saw the NY "Supernatural" show and am shocked at how long it lasted - it was a "hodge podge jumble" of strange characters & the story line was "thin" at best - the magic/illusions were OK, but sometimes the "Price Is Right" motions/hands were used, making it look cheesy - the other show where everyone was in black leather (w/3-4 guys) was just too S&M for me. His music is pretty good though.

The story line to this new Cirque show sounds like a menage a trois (or the bio of Criss' life?) - although I did like the fact that he capitalized LIE in 'beLIEve" on the show's poster-- intriguing. I've walked out (discretly) of every Cirque show I've attended - sorry, they just bored me. I sometimes think if Criss weren't so "good looking", if he would not have half this following.

I hope Criss really curbs his partying/drinking ways - pics of him half smashed w/Pam & being covered in chocolate for his bday & spanked by a dominatrix are not attractive at all - rumor is he's even looking to get into the nightclub biz - big mistake - I don't think this is what a Father (whom he obviously cherished) had in mind for Criss' life and road to fame - where's the Class? Criss Angel's main problem and what I believe contributed to this event is due to the fact that he has a huge EGO. The man just wants the world to know his lady was a MISS USA contestant and was hoping that she would be the winner, if not the top 15. Add that with his daily consumption of alcholol and you get the picture of what type of man he is.

Although now the rumor in Vegas is that he broke it off with her. Um, I wonder why? Perhaps because most people in the world weren't interested in him even when he did date Miss Nevada so now she has no use for him.

Luke: I just read about it today (May 2). It's pretty much confirmed Miss Nevada went her own way and is no longer with CA. I am sure that when his dearly-departed father was ill, and yes, my heart goes out to anyone with cancer, that if his father was threatened in any way, Mr. A.. would have gone to great lengths to act about it in such a fashion. That is only human nature to protect a loved one.

It disgusts me to think that with everything he has been through with his father's death from cancer, his mother's heart problems, etc., that he would even MAKE a remark like this. It is just sick, uncaring, and just plain mean.

As I wrote in the beginning, I have met Criss Angel. Thought the world of him. But mayBE that's just because I was schoomzing him, admiring him for his magical talent, which has now become debateable, and said "Hi, Criss, glad to meet you." Of course he was nice to me, why not? Criss relationship with Veronica a 23 year old KID in my opinion made me ill. I think Crss is older then her Father. She might be 23 but if you hear her speak she sounds like a 15 year old kid. I also got sick to my stomach to read all the comments about his hands up her panties at the Lax sometime in February. The man thinks he is KING OF VEGAS. Wait until after the first month or two, then see how many are going to PAY to see the upcoming Cirque show. Its one thing when a visitor stops at the LUXOR to see a demostration FREE but to pay, most don't even know who the heck he is and if one tries to explain all they have to say is "gross". This is a new lifestye for Criss he's trying to fit in. He's under a lot of stress. So what if he goes a little crazy.
He's not doing drugs murdering or robbing people.

I have to agree. I have said in response to other reports regarding his personal life, that I also support Criss and always will. The loyals know and will stick together to defend Criss to the end.

There is proof that this threat incident occurred. But the people who witnessed it (bodyguards and publicist for CA who jumped in between Norm and CA to stop anything from happening) won't own up to what happened, because they are employed by CA. So, it boils down a seasoned, reliable reporter for a large city (yes, Las Vegas is a large city) newspaper and a celebrity. Since CA's integrity is in question in other areas of his life, not just this incident, plus the fact that Norm Clarke has been a show business reporter for the Las Vegas Review Journal for a long time and does not knowingly fabricate things, I strongly believe Norm's version of what happened. Norm has absolutely no reason to lie about being threatened, nor would he make up something as horrendous as being blinded just to make it in the news. I am not the only one that believes this. His boss at the Las Vegas Review Journal has put out a separate article telling CA to cool it and to never, ever pull a stunt like threatening one of his reporters ever again.

I don't buy this about, in this instance, someone "saying something they do not mean." Of course, we all say things we don't mean. This is human nature. But to knowingly and willfully threatening to cause bodily harm upon someone that would cause them to be blinded for the rest of their life? No. I don't buy that. Only people who have no self control and total egotistical type people do that. Additionally, It is just downright criminal, reprehensible and something that people don't do to one another. Surely CA knows right from wrong. And he meant it too. Because he hasn't apologized or even acknowledged the incident nor refuted that it did happen.

This information did not come from a "gossip magazine" nor is it "smut" written by a "hack" reporter. Again, this was reported by a respected reporter. Norm Clarke does not "make up things" and put them in a newspaper. If he were to do that, he would be fired. I have WAY more faith in Norm Clarke's version of events that happened.

What is happening right now is that people are not believing this has happened at all because everyone is quiet. The reporter that it happened to reported it once...and that's it. Actually, I get the impression he laughs about it. CA has made no mention of it, acknowledged it happened, nor apologized for the incident....which clearly shows he hopes it goes away....and fall back on that old law for celebrities that it is better to be silent because your fans will back you up....even if you are at fault. Even the people who have hired CA for the show at the Luxor are quiet....in hopes that it will blow over. I would imagine they hate for people like me to even comment about this.

No one is judging CA. No one is trying to ruin CA's career. Personally, I don't care about him at all. But I am really concerned when someone who is in the public eye just goes ahead and threatens bodily harm to someone. He is taking his own steps to ruin his career. He don't need any help from me or anybody else. He's doing fine by himself.

I do feel sorry for the loyal fans of his. You will stick together til the end. And I have a strong feeling that he will disappoint you...in the end.

I know I wasn't there but there were alot of people who saw what he did, remember that lady sandy mecca called norm in the first place about what criss said because she was uncomfortable about it!! then at the pagent he did stick up his finger its on youtube! (miss usa 2008 top 15 swimsuit compitition) plus he needs to remember where he came from and who gave him all that he has now God and us!! well I just wanted to say I'm a loyal and love criss but if he does something wrong he should be held accountable for his actions I wouldn't let my kids get away with bad stuff they get in trouble! thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

colin from las vegas-your post of may 5, 2008 made me laugh out loud. If this highly respected reporter is so feeble, crippled like you make him out to be - why is he out in a crowd after dark-was he there to look at the 23 yr old girls too. The alleged threat to somehow further cause injury to this already nearly blind man---well colin how many times have you threatened to kick someone's a--. You would actually render a human being unable to handle their daily needs by kicking them so badly that they could lose this bodily function. Or maybe it is just a figure of speech-maybe. Get real--this is so kindergarden. If this reporter cant take the heat then pass the word on to him to stay out of the kitchen. He was a respected ADULT in NY (although his show was MORE than a bit "strange"), now its like seeing a "different Criss" (or maybe the TRUE ONE?) How can one person change so drastically - does he have a TWIN still living in NY maybe?

I mean he is 40 (a MAN, not a BOY - even though he looks/acts like a BOY), and is ALLEGEDLY SINGLE (although is the divorce final or not??) and if he isn't engaged to this Canadian Chick - he's entitled to date, but DUDE, does it have to be at THIS SKANKY LEVEL?

Those clubs he hangs out in are LOW man, those girls are just grossly "common" .....fun is one thing, but get your SHOTS before you go into some of those clubs - I don't even like to STAND NEXT to some of those patrons to get my drinks! I mean, I'm wearing a Rolex and get propositioned right & left just heading for the can! And if he IS engaged to the Canadian Chick - man is this guy's behavior an EYE OPENER for her! When we started this show 5 years ago - Criss was a real gentleman and sweetheart. He was TRULY concerned with the show, his dream for the show, and the people helping him make that dream come true (including Joann). The change came as Season two was being shot. Slowly, you could see the greed and ego take over this man's soul like some comic-book crazed scientist. I really blame his Management Company (the Firm) for encouraging his behavior to "act like a Star"... He was a simple guy from Long Island with a real dream and a passion for Magic burning in his heart. He has traded all that (and "sold his soul to the Devil") for what he feels is "Vega$ Fame"...

The Loyals are incredible fans who stand behind this sinking ship of a man no matter what. If you REALLY want to know some answers into this man's troubled ways - ask about what has happened to the more than 50 others that helped Criss START this show? How each one (including ALL original Cast Members of the show) have either been fired or have quit due to Criss' outrageous ego. And all the time - the Management Company is blowing in his ear "it's OK Criss...It's OK..."
They are great with ESTABLISHED Talent (big name stars from Stage and Screen), but to develop a talent such as Criss or to try to "help" a talent (Such as the sad handling of Britney Spears for two short weeks - which seems to have been just a ploy to "use" Britney's fame to help put their sad little "Star" Criss into the spotlight... THAT one backfired on them...)
Watch as Criss flies to the sun then comes crashing down to earth in a ball of fire as his new show dies a horrible death.

My dear "loyalists" (And anyone else who thinks so highly of this man's career) - walk out on the street of whatever town you live in (including Vegas) and walk up to 10 total strangers and ask "Who is Criss Angel"? - or "Have you ever seen MIND FREAK on A&E?"
The answers will hopefully "wake you up " to the reality of it all....

Like I say, I don't care about the guy, but I feel sorry for him. He's starting out here in Vegas on a bad note and he doesn't seem to be fixing his ego problems. But that's okay... Las Vegas will straighten him out. And it will be done quickly. Even Frank Sinatra, who thought he ran Las Vegas, got punched out by a few casino employees who he peeved off.

Which brings me to my main problem with this guy. He's a train wreck waiting to happen. That's okay. I don't care. The problem? He's in Las Vegas! Well, I guess he can get away with that stuff here. It's a safe haven for somebody like him. He can get away with it. But it will only be for a little while.

I say there's no way he's going to last 10 years with this show. It's already starting out bad. Because he states in the press that he is getting ready for the show and working like crazy in that endeavor yet, here he shows up in the news all the time at different night clubs on the Strip in Vegas all the time. Huh? Only thing I know is that he is a very busy man...accumulating press by threatening a one eyed reporter....hanging out with Miss Nevada (who dumped him recently) and other gals who are half his age....doing slight of hand work on the Strip showing people his pickpocketing abilities (which isn't magic....just criminal stuff). Well, good luck with all that stuff. Bad press is just as good as good press. In Hollywood, the truth are lies and lies are the truth.

I'm just happy that people see what's really happening with this guy..... And I'm happy to see some Loyals are jumping ship from him. Like I said before, he's doing it to himself.

I happen to think Coppafeel..jk... I mean Copperfield and Blaine are good looking. Unfortunetly Copperfields' a perv. Hans is hot , but he's gay. Criss is always showing off his stomach.. He plays up the sex appeal, more than any of the others do, probably because he isn't as good of magician. ? But he's hot too. A man that's rich is always a plus.

Question for Colin: Do you think Criss has the potential to make it 10 years with Cirque?
What's his reputation locally in Vegas? Is he still seen as one of Vegas strongest contenders in his business?

Criss divorce trial is set for 5/15/08
Rumors were his 3 month relationship with Miss Nevada was nothing more than a big media stunt in order to win media praise. Since that clearly backfired on him now he's managed to get into yet another quick hookup this time with a MILF Vegas clubgoer (aka HAWT MOM WITH INFANT). Um, is this yet another attempt to win media praise by showing the press that he is responsible by taking on YOUNG HAWT MOMMY.

Criss Angel is getting more predictable as the days move on. He is as easy as reading a children's book.

Maybe I should see about being employed under his Public Relations firm. I'm already in the know.

I always suspected The Firm to play a contributing role in sculping what Criss Angel has now become. Hopefully the man I grew to admire during the past 3 seasons will once again come back once his new found fame has made some sort of balance in his life. Criss is truly a talented performer. Its just overshadowed by all this gossip which is so well-known amongst celebrities in order to gain publicity. Press don't want to talk about talent, they only want to talk about who the dirt.

InTheKnow: Ten years with the same company and in the same casino is unbelievable for Las Vegas. Even Wayne Newton has skipped around lately (mainly because the Stardust, where he was at almost forever, closed down and was imploded to make room for a super casino). Celine Dion didn't last that long. I don't even think Elvis Presley and/or the Brat Pack made it that long neither.

As far as his reputation in Vegas...that remains to be seen. Anyways, don't matter what that reputation is to make it in this town. It could be bad or good...don't matter...as long as it gets you in the press. His bad press in Las Vegas is putting him in the category with other losers like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Dennis Rodman though. But I see (and others do also) that he is not starting out very good for someone who is supposed to be headlining a major act at a major casino on the Las Vegas Boulevard. CA is not a big deal in this town. At all. But that don't matter neither. Will he pull in tourists to his show?

I don't think so. From what I see, acts on the Strip (as well as casinos and other businesses) are struggling a bit. Total winnings at casinos in all of Nevada are down this past quarter...compared to before. Construction of newer things on the Strip has slowed down a bit. Foreclosures have hit Las Vegas the hardest of any city in the nation. The price of things to prepare food have went up...which will cause restaurants to increase prices....gas prices are up which will effect the ability of the "California crowd" to come to Vegas on the weekends by car. We're in a recession (although Bush says we ain't) and night club acts will suffer too. Tourists will still go to shows, but they'll go to the big name shows like the new Cher act at Caesar's Palace, the Beatles tribute Love at the Mirage...and other longstanding established acts. CA is not that big of a name and won't draw...and he is starting out at a bad time. The cards are against him. That's just my opinion. Also, in my opinion, the Amazing Jonathan is a bigger draw in this town...he is not a magician, but a comedian who pretends like he's a magician that utterly fails in a lot of his magic attempts on stage...but this is done for pure entertainment and is part of the act...and he is effective at it...his wife is part of the stage show too. He skips around to do his show at different casinos, but he draws more audiences than CA ever will, in my opinion.

Cirque would have never offered an unknown a 10 year gig if they didn't believe he could bring in the crowd. Criss Angel is a bonafide star. The man is worth millions. He cannot step out into the public without a bodyguard or two present at all times. He may now be labeled as "egotistic" by the locals but he has earned that right because he is controlling his career. He did not get to where his is by playing the role of "Mr. Nice Guy" to all that come his way. Many bonafide stars are hard asses but they need to be in order to stay on top of their game.

Mark my words, all those that doubt will be eating those words for the next 10 years, if not more. Criss Angel is a superstar. He is THE KING OF LAS VEGAS in the world of Magic. Las Vegas is his home and he isn't going anywhere.

And for the record, not that who he dates has anything to do with his career in Vegas and Cirque. If he is so egotistic he would not be dating all the beautiful young locals. He'd be chasing all the celebrity skirts. The man is incredible attractive. He can have any lady that he wants but he continues to go for the locals. That says to me loud and clear that he is a down-to-earth man when it comes to his private life than most celebrity hot heads.

He's already tried to chase after celebrity skiirts for publicity and it backfired on him. Remember Cameron Diaz, and Britney Spears?
I'm sure Criss,- the media whore - will try to get with somebody more well known or somthing if he had the chance. Just wait and see. After all ,he thinks Houdini was a major publicty hound or media whore of his day) ANd that's who he's modeling himself after.
(On a side note..who really knows what Houdini would have done? If he were alive today, would he really have been as much of a press hound as Criss thinks? I'd like to think Houdini had a conscious . Maybe he wouldn't choose to do certain things if he lived during this time. it's a different time and place now and he's dead man, so who's really to say?

Also, I dont' think anyone "earns" the right to become egotistical! Criss never came off that way in the first couple seasons of his show. I think that's why people liked him. It wasn't just about his magic or looks, he also had a down to earth personality. But ,it seems now that he's finally achieved a little fame, he's becomie a bit of an ass and that's what a lot of the core fans are upset about. Who knows maybe he was this way all along and the other way was just an act?

How's Criss reputation now. Much better I assume. Maybe because he has a lady friend that he doesn't need to promote. lol
