Tonight I am going to cover up to 20 former Miss America pageant winners gathering at Trader Vic's from 5 to 7:30 at Planet Hollywood for a promotion.

Does anyone else think this Atlantic City transplant doesn't really fit Vegas?

 

More in keeping with Vegas: I am planning to go to Jet on Friday night to attend the coronation of Miss Jet 2008. And there will be no suspense over who wins this contest. According to the press tip sheet, the winner is "dethroned and disgraced Miss USA Tara Conner." One problem: Tara Conner may be, to quote the words of the club honoring her, "disgraced," but she was not "dethroned." Tara Conner only got sent by the Donald to rehab. Conner kept the Miss USA title. There is a good reason memory on this point may be confused. First off, for a sober person, Conner spends a lot of time in Vegas nightclubs. Last year, how much she drank or did not drink while partying at Pure resulted in a flurry of press releases. Another reason for the confusion could be that Miss Jet 2007, the lady presenting this great honor to Tara Conner, is Katie Rees, who was actually stripped of her title as Miss Nevada and booted from the Miss USA contest.

OK, so to set it all straight: Miss Jet 2007 was "dethroned" and "disgraced," while Miss Jet 2008 was merely "disgraced."
