Britney Spears: Top 5 Vegas 'Britastrophes'
This city has been home to so many of her "Oops I did it again" mistakes. In fact, Sunday barely scrapes into my 'Top 5 Britastrophes' to take place in Vegas:
5. Britney bombs at the VMAs. Not bothering to sing, seemingly unable to keep up with her backing dancers and looking stressed out Britney goes through the motions of a performance.
4. In July, Britney's bodyguards were accused of attacking Flynetonline.com photographers at the Wynn. According to the account offered by the paparazzi: "Immediately after, Britney ran towards Andrew as if she were going to attack him, but after being restrained by security, she threw a baby bottle at Andrew and said, 'I am going to kill you. I'm going to (expletive) kill you.' She then said that he should get a restraining order against her, because if she couldn't kill him, she'd hire someone who would."
3. Concert at HOB at Mandalay Bay. At least the VMA performance was free for fans to watch. In May, Britney charged her fast-diminishing fan base in Vegas for attending a House of Blues concert that offered a similarly lackluster performance and only a slightly longer show.
1. Vegas wedding. In January 2004 Britney Spears married some guy for a few days. At the time, she said she did not understand marriage meant such a serious sort of commitment. She got the marriage annulled, and then along came K-Fed with marriage material written all over him.

I'm sorry, but in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. We're lambasting Brit when she is only the latest in an endless train of made-for-the-second commercial product, and then we enjoy their eclipse and fall from grace even more. At least she's putting up some fight.
Life can really stink, even if you're rich. No one should feel sorry for her, but it's also a sin to enjoy watching her downhill slide.

I could not have said it better myself Rob. You hit the nail on the head.

With Paris gone to ground and Lindsay in extended rehab, who else have we got? Somebody's gotta step up and cover Britney.

Then call me a sinner because I'm absolutely loving her self-destruction!

With no one around here, let us look near the borders (canada, mexico) - Hope we got some good performers out there who can keep our senses entertained. What to say, we have come to look at such stardom as religion and celebirity as a role model . Without such juicy stories, one seems to be really bored and whether one can realize it or not, it can really drive one to such crazy preoccupation I suppose.

she will be okay haters give brit 50 ft she'll be back and hopefully better tha ever i still love her
Posted by: GEEZIE | September 12, 2007 at 08:42 PM
The only thing I can say is that somebody who loves her should grab her scream that she doesn't have to perform like a circus monkey, she gave millions of people joy, she is an entertainer. Her family should keep her at home and give her some joy and instruct her that she is worthwhile and deserves respect, privacy, and happiness even if it's not on a stage so people can mock her which is obviously all their interested in anymore. She doesn't owe us anything.

What cracks me up is the press trying to find everything htey can to nitpick.
her body??? ok, now, if she looks bad, what about rhianna?? she has no back, and she wears tight black shorts and her legs go staight up in her back, if i was her manager, i'd have told her she shouldn't wear that outfit. Brittany can lose weight, how can rhianna get some "BACK"???

Let's pray for Britney, that she returns to her Christian roots and starts spending some quality time with Jesus, that she heeds His almighty wisdom. He's the only One who can save her. He is the only One who can save any of us.
Rob and Autumn: thanks for supporting Britney with your eloquent prose.
In Christ, y'all! :)

What's wrong with US people?? Always looking to what the other one has or not...it's amazing....
You're always looking outside but you can't look your inside...I think it's time for you all to rethink about your principles...it's just an advice...
have a good life!
bye!

Britney Spears has no character. That's why she's burning out early. So she's got(or had) looks and can sing and dance when she wants to. Lots of people can do that and they're not famous. Somebody out there is making these cookie cutter celebrities using a formula of some kind but it seems to be backfiring. The only reason they seem to have(at this writing)given up on Michael Jackson is because pedophiles aren't cool. At least not yet.
Celebrities have no character. No self-discipline. Give somebody with no character and no self-discipline fame and lots of money and what do you get?
A corpse.

Leave the poor girl alone. Jeez - I am not a Britney fan - I don't think she demonstrates any talent at all. But, neither do a majority of our top "artists" and "stars." Truth be told, you don't have to have a lot of talent to make it as a musicsian or singer, anymore.
That being said, however - I don't care how rich or famours or successful or whatever she is - she doesn't deserve to be hounded and nit-picked at, and harrassed every damn single moment of her life. Those of you who think because she's a star, she should expect this treatment - rethink your opinion. Rich and famous or not, would you want your EVERY move tracked and discussed and made fun of on a daily basis? To not be able to go outside without being stalked and surrounded, constantly? It would rive anyone crazy. Seriously. No, really - think about it - everywhere you went, everything you did, every comment you made - would be reported GLOBALLY, to EVERYONE. You can't EVER walk outisde and live normally cause paparazzi are hounding your every move.
It's no wonder she is having problems and doesn't know how to deal with them. I actually feel sorry for her, cause as others have said, then everyone jumps aboard the bandwagon and can't wait to see and discuss her downfall. It's sad and pathetic that so many get so much joy out of someone's misery, but htat seems to be the case in today's world, where we constantly judge eveyone, all the time.
Leave her alone. Give her some space. Quit making fun of her. She's not perfect, but maybe with some understanding and space, she can put things back together again, or at least her life. Everyone deserves that. The poor girl is going to be a wreck before she's 30...

Brit's 5 don't come close to my scandalous 5 or any of my friends 5. Vegas iis a bad-ass place and bad things happen. Who cares if this chick sang bad a few times? That's a very lame 5.

Uhhhh, thanks Lori........
I'm sure an almighty, all loving, Jesus would have pulled her dimpled rear out of the fire a long time ago. She does need to take a deep breath, about a years worth, and re-think this whole "Star" thing. She should disappear for a while like Owen Wilson.

Putting up some fight, Rob? What are you talking about, man? She didn't get into the limelight under her own power - She was always a managed act and, let's be honest, it was never about her singing. Now she has gotten out of the control of her handlers, and this is the result.
Lori: Yeah. Jesus will save her, but only if he has a bat to hit her over the head with so that he may carry her off for reprogramming.

It is sad to think this is the idol that my 13 yr old daughter looked up to. At least I can try and explain why and how things go so wrong and only hope that my child can understand how Britney is setting the example that I prayed she would not. From the Mickey Mouse club to this... you have come a long way baby! But it just happens it was the wrong way!
Britney needs to take time and really figure out what kind of person she is and what she really wants before jumping back in the fast track. When you don't know who you are you are to easily lead. She needs to get back to basics, family and self esteem first and everyone else after.

Lori is on to something here. The only way out for this girl -- career wise, here... I'm no judge of souls -- is to get publicly "born again." Much like the rebirth of the career of Jerry Lee Lewis (also from Louisiana) in the 1960s, who though never saved was never far from publicly struggling with it, a core audience of god-lovin' people will be completely delighted to "take her back" from all this West Coast mayhem, and if she does it sheepishly enough (whether or not she's actually been "saved") she has a brand new, and lucrative, audience for her records. Mark my words, if she does this she will be the single biggest star in "christian" music ever, driving the much-desired market share of this once niche industry to even more nauseating heights. Hell, I'm feelin' amoral enough that I might just pitch her on the idea myself. When money is your god, god is money.

"Leave the poor girl alone", what complete hogwash. The "poor girl" needs to keep the hell out of the public eye if she doesnt want to be mocked mercilessly for being the vapid, shallow, overrated waste of flesh that she is. You people need to quit whining about "poor Britney" and worry more about the worsening situation in the world. Every generation gets the music it deserves, and if that's true, then its time to bring the draft back and turn your sissified generation into adults. Britney can do the world a favor and go away now, and that'll solve the problem completely.

I think Dean Wormer of Animal House said it best:
"Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life."

On the item about Britney taking a nap: Maybe the city should change its name to Snooze Vegas!

Where is Britney's mother. This child needs an adult in her life.

Britneys sucess is like money in the bank. Sure the women and gay men have carved her pretty good but dont forget that men make up half the population. I for one will support Brits new alblum even if I never listen to it (I will its very good so far). Its not about the music anymore, Its about the disgusting media cult of shallow pieces. For just 20 bucks I can make them look even worse than they already do. In my books thats money well spent. So lets all purchase her new alblum! so we can sit back and watch them eat crow.
