Lap Dances Banned in Las Vegas
The Nevada Supreme Court has overruled a lower court to uphold a city ordinance banning lap dances. This seems to have caught everyone by surprise. According to the Review-Journal : "In the decision, Justice Nancy Becker said the city ordinance was intended to prohibit lap dances." City attorney Brad Jerbic is now facing the horror of that reality for the local economy. Though Jerbic won the case he seems to disagree with his victory telling the Review-Journal: "The ordinance never banned lap dances." It only (if you check the offences the dancers performed in the case) bans rubbing your butt on man's lap or putting your boobs in his face. Isn't that exactly what a lap dance is? Whatever, but that is the point: all of this is in the interpretation. So the good will of police and not the language of the law is what Jerbic is expecting people to trust here. But ACLU of Nevada general counsel Allen Lichentein in the article notes that "if he had a client who was a stripper, he would advise her that lap dancing is illegal in city limits." And, if I had a friend who wanted to go to a strip club in Las Vegas and as advice for you LA tourists who are thinking about it: customers can be cited as well. Not that this is likely to happen. But if you get a lap dance in Las Vegas right now you are clearly entering a gray area of the law and it is interesting how this will play out. Off the top of my head, among the popular clubs that are impacted: Crazy Horse Too, Olympic Garden, and Treasurers. When I just now called Treasures to confirm they were in the city the woman who answered the phone wasn't sure at first and had to check. Someone from Scores is looking into the same question and is going to call me back. That difference as of now is very significant.

Well, for all those folks who can no longer get their lap dances in Vegas you should come to Seattle. An ordinance to effectively outlaw lap dances via rules requiring a 4 foot separation between dancer and customer and lots of bright lights got defeated by the oh-so-blue voters in Seattle. But you have to make sure you are in Seattle as most other municipalities surrouding the Emerald City has such rules.

And the beautiful thing is, Las Vegas Police have so little to do that they'll have plenty of time and personnel on their hands to make absolutely sure that no boobs are being waved closely in anyone's face at any "in the city" strip club.
It's a crucial element to law and order in Sin City.

Now that Vegas doesn't provide stupid trash men will start looking at their neighbor's wives and children. Lock your doors and windows LA, your men have no outlet for their deviant behavior.

Well Divorce rates will skyrocket considering most married men attend the strip clubs.
After all there wives seem to have gotten old and fat and well they aren't Hot Strippers you see Men like young good looking slutty women, no matter how old the man a 21 year old pretty woman beats his hag wife every day of the week.
Don't belive me then just visit any strip club across the country you will find men lined up rubbing on young tight women. Vegas having these laws is beyond me isn't it Sin city? What next Hotels Oriented towards family's? Themed Hotels?
Wait didn't that already fail miserably.

No lap dances in Vegas sounds like it won't last.

This is like deja vu, I remember back in the late sixties and early seventies, all the ado about the movie Deep Throat and adult theaters in Los Angeles.
The media gave the adult entertainment industry plenty of publicity and after many years of lawsuits the adult industry lost, and most theaters and strip clubs closed their doors.
Over the past few years the topless and totally nude clubs have seen a resurgence in and around Los Angeles, will we start seeing additional campaigns to close them once again?

I don't buy the line that ALL men go to strip clubs just because their wives aren't satisfying them at home. If your partner isn't satisfying you, there are other options (like talking to them) you can take before sneaking off to have a stripper rub her boobs and bootie on your junk.

The debate about why married or otherwise attached men want lap dances is a funny one. For every woman that cares less about her appearance after marriage, there is a man to match, usually her own husband. Both partners in a relationship are highly likely to slack off as soon as they think they have a locked in deal. And not just in their physical appearance but in the way they talk to each other or treat each other and then, surprise, sex suffers. I personally don't think that if all women suddenly did nothing but try to please their man even when their man lets himself go, looks like a slob, has a beer belly, and won't take the time to please his woman in return, that strip clubs would go away or even see a serious loss of business. Men enjoy things at clubs they cannot get from remaining interested in only their woman. They enjoy variety, or doing something on the edge, or they want a good girl at home but a "whore" for some of their fantasies.
