Naked Men Giving Lap Dances to Ladies
Last night I went to the Palomino in North Las Vegas to interview the new owners for my Sunday Calendar column. This strip club is the only place in the area that allows both alcohol and fully nude dancers. It's the result of grandfathering; the Palomino's special license guarantees them this monopoly until 2019.
But in order to go there, tourists will have to discover North Las Vegas, which has yet to happen. It should be easy for the club to get them there considering that the Palomino has such a unique license and the competition is mostly stuck in the equally unpleasant area around Industrial Avenue (behind the Strip).
Yet, over the years, the Palomino has become essentially a local's club due to a combination of no marketing and Strip tourists not knowing that North Las Vegas exists.
The Palomino is sinking money into improvements and also more feature dancers to raise its profile. Last month I wrote for the Buffet about how the new owners celebrated the remodeled club with a reopening weekend including a feature performance from Sunset Thomas. Thomas is now the Palomino's spokesmodel (yeah, I am not real clear either on what that job title means) and records a weekly Internet talk radio show there for a station called, of course, KSEX. This Saturday the feature dancer at the Palomino will be former adult actress Davia Ardell.
Anyway, I had heard that among the changes at the Palomino was the introduction of the first fully nude male revue in Las Vegas. I was right about the nudity but wrong about a couple things. The male revue was going on under the old ownership and is only now being better promoted. The other thing I was clueless about is that it turns out the Palomino is offering far more than an all-nude male revue. If I understand correctly, ladies for the first time in Las Vegas history can buy a lap dance for $20 from a fully nude male dancer.
The male strippers were not working last night, but I did get to interview one of the male dancers, AJ Trunk, who was at the club. He told me that the primary difference between him and his female stripper counterparts: the amount of tips. Women, apparently, are cheap, cheap tippers when it comes to lap dances. Anyway, since the male section was not open last night, I will have to go back Saturday to see Mr. Trunk and his compatriots ply their trade. I can't even imagine. Buffet photographer Sarah Gerke has volunteered to take one for the team and buy herself a lap dance while we are there for research purposes. Thanks, Sarah!
FYI: Trunk clearly says he would never give a lap dance to another man. But I am not sure if, in general, male customers at the Palomino can buy lap dances from guys. I will get that information too when I go back Saturday to check it all out. Should all make for an interesting column.

Well. if the male dancers want better tips, allow gay men into the club. I guarantee a full house and more tips than you could...well...shake a stick at.

Har, shake a stick at. Women won't tip strippers well, eh? Just another example of how the female mind is more practical.

What would be the purpose of dude giving a naked lap-dance to woman anyway? No wonder they aren't tipping --who wants a skid-mark on their clothes anyway????

These men work at the Palomino, so I assume they are hung like a horse...

Not sure how the male strippers are able to..uh...control their stuff while giving a lap dance.

Oh to be 20 years younger, buff, and it would probably help to be good looking, again. For 20 bucks a dance, it would a lot easier than laboring for a living. While I am wishing, here's hoping I hit the lotto.

It's really amazing that far all the supposed "openess" and "sexual, anything goes" in Las Vegas that it is still an amazingly homophobic and closeted town for Gays. Entrepreneurs need to tap into the Gay dollar big time by offering Gay shows; Gay strip joints; as well as Gay hotels and casinos. Las Vegas has always struck me as a place that has a lot of "sizzle" but very little "steak."

Hahahahaha . . .I haven't read anything so funny since Hillarsaurus caught Monica elbowing Al Gore out from under First Suckee's Oval Office Desk! What a scene: A drooling, dolled up middle aged dame having a guy do a lap hula-hula ricocheting his wanger across her boobs. Hahahahaha . . .Oh, mystery of the cheap tipping? Well, think about it . . .only one place for it to go, girls, so wear rubber gloves! No coins or credit cards, please!

Chippendale's male revue was never that popular for women anyways; the oppositive sexes work and arouse differently. If gay men aren't the key prospects then the male lap dance thing will just fizzle or be wedding party thing.

I could give plenty of women lap dances, but I could only afford to pay them $15.

Clearly, these guys dont give Gay men lapdances, because they themselves are gay. No man could rub their junk all over a woman without getting aroused, So there you have your reason why they refuse gay dances...

Dynomite!!! I suppose they pay you to let them put it in their mouths as well... Dance for the gays and they will pay, just be ready to let them pay to put it in their mouths because they most definitely will!!!

I used to be a male stripper. Women used to put money in my pants. But I eventually quit because got tired of having to count up all of that change at the end of the night.

You want a tip? Don't eat yellow snow. If I want a penis in my face I'll just pick up some fellow from the local tavern. It's free!!
Posted by: jaycee | September 29, 2006 at 08:05 PM
I too would be laughing too much to even think about tipping the tally wagger! Last thing in life I would want to see is a naked guy making a fool of himself......its sick, really sick! I pray the women of Vegas are not that desperate!

LOL, yeah the gay men getting dances works for me. I'd let a gay guy grab my ass and crotch for a hefty tip, where do I apply?
