Who Won? Who cares.

Everyone is talking about Tuesday's primary. I didn't vote. But that does not mean I didn't follow the election. Politics in Las Vegas is true entertainment and generally features candidates so bizarre that you don't have to care who wins to enjoy the show.
My favorite race included the only impeached elected official in Nevada history, Kathy Augustine. Despite that nasty distinction from Augustine's time as state controller, she was on the ballot trying to score the nomination for the job of state treasurer.
And, being disgraced isn't all Augustine had going against her. She is also dead and not just politically; she actually died last month. Still, according to the Review-Journal, Augustine pulled in 26,000 votes, though she did not win the Republican nomination.
In fact, most of my top candidates (as in, most entertaining candidates) aren't sticking around, including Barbara Lee Woollen (written about earlier on the Buffet) and Lt. Gov./lounge singer Lorraine Hunt who failed in her bid to get the Republican nomination for governor.

Any explanation as to how Nancy Saitta and Diane Steel got so many votes? Was it just anti-incumbent sentiment?
