To Boldly Go

11:08 AM PT, Aug 18 2006

The Star Trek convention is at the Las Vegas Hilton for the next few days. That means 15,000 to 20,000 people and William Shatner will be in Vegas geeking out like me at a Bob Dylan concert.

So, of course, I am going to try to make it to a topless bar during the convention. What is the connection?  A dancer friend last year was pondering wearing Vulcan ears to work in an effort to increase tips during the convention. I asked her how she knew that so many customers in her club were coming over from this particular convention, and she told me she was certain because they were wearing elaborate costumes.

I must go see this: men in Star Trek uniforms and intergalactic-costumed aliens buying lap dances from Vegas strippers.
