Judges Behaving Badly

12:46 PM PT, Jun 27 2006
The Los Angeles Times recently ran a series looking at problems in the Las Vegas judiciary. But the series had nothing to say about the private lives of our judges which can be even more jaw-dropping. On Saturday, for example, a part-time Clark County justice of the peace was arrested in a prostitution sting on Fremont Street.

But that is nothing compared to Clark County Family Court Judge Steven Jones who is facing charges of domestic violence. According to the Review-Journal, a scheduled hearing yesterday in the case — where his girlfriend was hoping to be granted a protective order — was postponed because Jones was unavailable. He was on a fishing trip in Alaska.
