Suge Knight has nothing on the former manager of the Coasters (you know, "Charlie Brown" and "Yakety Yak") Patrick Cavanugh. The Review-Journal reports this morning that Cavanaugh died in State prison where he had been residing since the 80s after being convicted in Las Vegas of the brutal murder of an original member of the band: Nathanial "Buster" Wilson:
"Wilson's body was mutilated. His vocal cords also were removed and acid had been used to remove his fingerprints. Parts of his body were found near Hoover Dam shortly after the murder. Then, two years later, other parts of his body were found in a canyon near Modesto."
In 1990 another member of the Coasters (Cornell Gunter) was shot to death in North Las Vegas. No one has yet been convicted of that crime. So, does our rap hating sheriff know where the Four Tops and the Temptations are? Has he been urging casinos not to book Doo-Wop?
