Rolling Stone Vs. Hard Rock
08:36 AM PT, Feb 3 2006
Hubble Smith, at "The Review-Journal," has a Las Vegas source that identifies Alexis Park on Harmon as the location of the possible future $500 million Rolling Stone Casino. Interestingly, the Alexis Park is located directly across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel. According to the "Review-Journal":"A spokesman for the Hard Rock said owner Peter Morton has been a longtime friend of Jann Wenner. And, while nothing has been confirmed, should the Rolling Stone hotel go through, the spokesperson, said Morton would welcome the competition and thinks it would be good for the Las Vegas market."
Morton can be so blase, because after a decade owning the Hard Rock he knows how few deals go through, especially when it comes to new casino hotels. The paperwork and cost to get into the gaming business in Nevada are far more than outsiders realize. And, big names from other places announce things that never happen here all the time. I would guess this Rolling Stone casino project is highly unlikely to ever take place. The reality of a Rolling Stone casino directly across from the Hard Rock though would be a brutal competition. Still, since Jann and Peter are such buddies why fight when they can partner: I'm liking a Rolling Stone lounge at the Hard Rock or better a Rolling Stone concert hall as part of the Hard Rock's already planned remake of the Joint. Wink if you want at the music of teen rebellion now the theme to a casino corporation's manufactured ambiance of debauchery. Oh, there are ironies, but after awhile you don't notice them anymore. Rock is Vegas. When I asked Johnny Rotten about the Sid Vicious slot machine at the Hard Rock (before the Sex Pistols did a reunion show at the casino) he threatened to take a bat to it; his outrage was the possibility that the licensing fee had not been paid. Rock on!

How much will people lose in Las Vegas during the superbowl? The casinos will jack-up the table minimums, hotel rates, not to mention the sportsbook propositions and spreads.

According to the Review-Journal, the LVCVA expects 285,000 visitors to drop 102.4 million on non-gaming purchases this weekend. Last year the betting on the Super Bowl: $90.8 million.

I moved back to the Pacific Northwest due to a medical issue and I didn't realize how much I hated the city until now. An excellent place to visit but a horrible place to live.
As far as I'm concerned, the whole place can be imploded and have one hell of a party doing so...

Hey Guys! I work as a waitress on the Vegas Strip and I had a customer last week that I met. He was a really sweet guy named Billy Tuchscher from California and he was having dinner with some of the people on his project.
Anyway, it turns out that he is the Developer of The Rolling Stone Hotel and Casino that is scheduled to open in 2010! I probably wasn’t supposed to see it – but I saw a shot of the DVD and this building rocks!!! It has constantly changing Rolling Stone Magazine covers filling up the whole building …
Does anyone know anything else about it? It sounds like its going to be awesome … like no other Vegas Hotel and Casino out there….celebrity and musician heaven!!! Supposed to have the best Shopping Yet on the Strip!

Thought I heard about that. I promote the clubs.
Fergie and Justin Timberlake have been seen hanging out around town with William Tuchscher and Jann Wenner. I believe its something about a reality show???
Lol we are all celebrity obsessed in this world these days so I think this casino will be cool.
