A Vegas Casino Dares Nelly
09:10 AM PT, Feb 22 2006
Tonight Nelly will be judging the model search "Miss Apple Bottoms" at rumjungle in Mandalay Bay. Normally, beyond a smirk, this would not be worth noting. But either this event has slipped through the cracks or host property Mandalay Bay (owned by MGM/Mirage) has decided not to be intimidated by the sheriff's request to keep rap performers out of casino's nightclubs. Of course, only Sheriff Bill Young would think that party-rap like "Hot in Herre" is at all gangsta. But he does; the most serious incident leading up to the sheriff's warning came from shootings that followed a Nelly concert at the Aladdin. Who would think judging "Miss Apple Bottons" would turn into a moment to thumb your nose at the MAN?

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference A Vegas Casino Dares Nelly:

That's funny, Richard. But I would say, that as long as that crap makes money, they'll keep booking it.
In Vegas, we DO have some true class act music entertainment, though. Just go check out Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns on Monday nights I put up a blog for 'em here:

A bunch of our best show players throwing down for the pure fun of it. It would be rated no more than PG, either.

Yeah it's pretty hilarious to see & hear a balding middle-aged white honkie like Sheriff Bill Young wag a finger at the casinos over what acts they should or shouldn't be booking in Las Vegas. Is this guy totally clueless about which demographic casinos are marketing towards these days ?! Seen the video for Ludacris's "Pimpin All Over the World" yet, police Captain White Bread ? With its bling'd out pimps & almost-naked ho's it looks exactly like an advertisement for any Strip casino nightclub --

A honky huh?, Russ. You sound like a racist. Do you think the Sheriff cares about the demographics that casinos are attempting to atttact?. Hey mister blinged out made up fake name, too bad wise guys didn't still run casinos. The parasites of society
would be bum rushed out of the place-quick.

Miss "Apple Bottoms" is a getto slang euphimisim for skanks with "phat" butts the size of medicine balls. Gee, how classy.
How about banning them for being ignorant with seriously idiotic taste as well?
The Scintas must be so proud to be associated with the Rio.
I'm canceling my reservation now....

Hey Wade,
The "Wise Guys" are the parasites of society. Do you know how many lives they have destroyed? Far more than any rapper could ever take credit for. I would pick my heroes more carefully. No one who wontonly kills or mames other human beings should be glorified. No matter what the race. Gangsters are gangsters are gangsters.

Hey get a clue, I'm not pinning any medals on wise guys. But I will say this, how many strong arm robberies did you have in casinos, how many shooting, how many attacks, back when the boys were in charge.
Close to none. I never vouched for their version of morality, I'm just stating a fact that in the 80's version of Vegas there were certain unwritten laws.
Your hip hop heros, the one's the brandish weapons, would have been dealt with. Gangsters, are gangsters, are gangsters. Man, that's clever-you sure can turn
a phrase.

The prevention of underage gambling and identifying and helping problem gamblers is a core objective in running an integrity driven online gambling operation. Gambling at blackjack, or any other Williamhillpoker game for that matter is a great form of leisure and entertainment, but for some it can potentially be dangerous.
