Las Vegas Celebration of Jewish Films

January 12, 2006 |  7:58 am
Perhaps, it is an inevitable consequence of being so close to Los Angeles. Still, with so much to do here, many are surprised by how dedicated and active the film community is in Las Vegas.  Today is the opening of the fifth annual Las Vegas Celebration of Jewish Film. The event runs through Monday with 9 films set for screening at the Suncoast casino's Century Theatres. The films come from world over including "Campfire" (winner of 5 Israeli Academy Awards) and Free Zone which stars Natalie Portman.  The cost is $10 admission for each movie. But one of the more intriguing titles is a documentary being show for free on Sunday (11 a.m. and 6 p..m.): "The History of Jewish Women of Las Vegas."
