I fell in love with Las Vegas the very first minute I got here. No one who has ever met me believes that. I don’t gamble and I am usually the first person to leave a party. I spent most of my suburban childhood attending 80's hardcore punk shows in the Philadelphia area. Now, pushing 40 I have an obsession with Bob Dylan that my close friends worry about. In so many ways I am all wrong for Las Vegas. Yet, you can count on one hand the number of times I have left this city since I moved here to take a job covering entertainment for Las Vegas Weekly in 1999; never have I been gone for more than a few days.Everyday you are not in Las Vegas you miss something. Where else can you live in a brothel and call it work? Seriously, for me there is no place like home.
Las Vegas is the most fascinating place in the country, a novel unfolding before my eyes, with players who also happen to be celebrities, the wildest of party people and powerful moguls. I am an addict. I am mesmerized by everything that goes on here. Check back and each day I will share with you a slice of the experience as it happens

It took me a good seven years to "fall in love" with Vegas. I had no idea the Abowitz was from Philly as well. It's amazing how many of us are. But it's good to read from a real Vegas booster. Now go uncover some entertainment dirt.
